L. JUNE (BUNNEY) JUSTICE
Leslie June Justice, of Spanaway, passed away peacefully April 17th at age 86. June was the widow of long-time Bethel High School teacher and coach, Jack Justice, who died April 25, 2006. June Bunney was born July 1, 1923 in Princeton, Idaho. She moved with her family to Parkland, Washington during the depression years. She graduated from Kapowsin High School as Valedictorian in 1941, where she met, and soon after, married Jack. By the time Jack got out of the army at the end of World War II, they had three children. June concentrated on raising the kids while her husband attained his teaching degree from Pacific Lutheran College. It was a sports-oriented family, and June, who was a cheerleader for Jack's teams at Kapowsin High, continued in that role for her family until the end of her life. Her greatest pleasure among a wide range of family activities was attending the ballgames played in by her husband, children, grandchildren, and even into the final weeks of her life, her great-grandchildren. June is survived by her children, Gary (Molly) Justice, Sharon (Jim) Olson, and Cheryl (Billy Yorek) Dolan, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her best friends, her three sisters, Reatha Leber, Doris Hartman and Cleo Andreasen. Another of the Bunney girls, Gweneth McVey, predeceased her. June Justice was a beautiful person, inside and out. She is already missed, but not gone; she will live forever in our hearts and memories. A celebration of June's life and reception will be held at Fir Lane Memorial Park in Spanaway, Monday, May 3rd at 11:00 am.
